In July 8, 1960 the Foundation stone of the Stewart School, Bhubaneswar was laid down by Dr. H.K. Mohatab then Chief Minister of Odisha and the school started its journey of faith under the supervision of Rev. E.G. Collins, the first principal of the school. The motto of the Stewart School is to fulfill the all round development of the Student. Students from all over India used to come for better education. The Stewart School, Bhubaneswar has been growing from strength to strength with the ideals of its founder. Presently, the School boasts with 2050 students, (Kindergarden to Class12) 63 number of teaching staffs and 7 administrative staffs and 22 support staffs. The school has been furnished with all modern infrastructure and Hi-tech teaching learning materials.
The School was established in 1960 under Senior Cambridge system. After the system was abolished, It came under the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi for ICSE Examination. In 1997 the School was upgraded by the CISCE, New Delhi for ISC (Science, Commerce, Humanities) courses of classes XI & XII.
